Results of my first organic indigo dye pot

Lost a lot of color….. and it didn’t go very dark, even with three dips. Wonder what I did wrong? Any clues/tips?

I still like it. And it will make a nice summer dress for Lilly.

  1. Hi Nicola!
    Thanks!!
I used the organic fructose vat instructions that I got from Maiwa. 1 part indigo, 2 parts lime, 3 parts fructose. It could be that I didn’t shake the indigo long enough with the marbles, so it wasn’t as hydrated as possible? Or it’s not reducing enough? I don’t have any photos, but the ‘blossom’ on the top of the vat is small…. not like when I used pre-reduced indigo. And the color of the vat is not as yellowy green as I think it should be.
