A tiny jacket for a tiny girl

Made Ellie a jacket this week…. it’s a size ‘2’ so she will have to grow into it!
Didn’t turn out as I expected it to…. but I like it!

Outer side is wool dyed with eucalyptus, onion skins and a scattering of turmeric. Lining is organic cotton dyed with indigo.

Probably should’ve ironed it before I took photos….. but was in a hurry to get to the post office before they closed.

  1. She will look sweet in this! And then, when she grows out of it, it would make a nice wall piece, it’s pretty as a picture (as we say in SK). Could it be reversible?

  2. Oh Julie, Elllie’s new eco print jacket made by you is just darling!! I absolutely adore it. When Emily takes photos of her in it, will you please post so we can all see? I love how the peach/orange/yellow and blue go together. Sweet idea to be bold like that. xox

    • Emily did send me one photo…. it swims on her. I’ll try to see where I put the photo and pass it along!
Bold? Naw…. everybody loves that combination! I love the way blue and orange play together, they make each other sing. My brother Russell once painted a picture of these great naked old creatures dancing/marching in a line in front of a huge setting sun….. I could sit and look at it for the longest time, watching the orange of the sun flicker against the blue sky. It felt like magic.
